What we keep,
and what we don’t

Two small entries in your browser’s local storage. Neither is a tracking cookie, and neither leaves your device on its own.

• Your half-finished registration. People start this form on a phone, get interrupted, and come back. What you have typed is saved as you go so that an interruption does not cost you your answers. It is cleared the moment your registration goes through, and you can clear it yourself at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
• Whether you have read this notice. A single word, so the notice does not greet you again on every page.

This site sets no cookies of its own for visitors. Two others appear in specific places:

• Our payment provider sets cookies while a payment form is on screen. They are used to complete your payment and to detect fraud. Your card details are entered directly into their own secure frames and never touch this website or the church’s systems.
• The committee’s login sets a session cookie behind the organisers’ area. If you are registering for the seminar, you will never receive it.

What you enter on the registration form: your name, email address and phone number, whether you are coming as a couple, whether you are a member, and any childcare, dietary or prayer notes you choose to add. If you are married, your wedding date too — and, if you are coming alone and ask to be celebrated, your spouse’s first name. Payment records show what was paid, how, and when — never card numbers, which the church never receives.

It is used to hold your seat, to send you your pass and reminders, to reconcile payments, and to run the day itself. If you are married, it is also used to wish you a happy anniversary: an email each year, and — only if you agreed to texts — a text on your first anniversary and every fifth. That stops after the fifth anniversary following the seminar you registered for. Nothing else.

The seminar committee, through a password-protected area, and only for running the event. Anything you write in the prayer request or dietary boxes is visible to them, so share what is useful and keep back what is not. Every action taken on a registration is recorded against the person who took it. The one exception is a celebration you asked for, below.

Only if you ask. Married registrants can tick a box asking to be celebrated on their anniversary, and the committee approves each request before anything appears. Then your names, your wedding month and day, and how many years you have been married appear on our Wedding Anniversary page on your anniversary — and on the landing page that day — and on the screen at the seminar. Never a photograph, never the year you married, and never any contact detail.

The Wedding Anniversary page is hidden from search engines. You can withdraw from your pass page at any time, and you disappear from every one of those places at once.

Couples who do not ask are only ever counted — in a total such as the years of marriage in the room — and those totals are not shown at all until there are enough couples that nobody could be picked out.

Your details are never sold, rented, or passed to anyone outside the church, and never used for advertising.

There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising network, no third-party script watching what you read. Nobody is building a profile of you here.

Email about your registration is something you agree to when you sign up, and you can decline it there — you will still have your pass, and you can bring your reference code to the door.

If you would rather not hear from us on your anniversary, say so and it stops; texts also stop when you reply STOP.

You may ask to see what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, at any time. Speak to a member of the committee, or ask at the church office.
